Best Diet For Weight Loss part 5

Part 5 is the last installation in the best diet for weightloss series. Throughout this series we have learned the importance of creating your own diet blueprint. We also discussed why substituting somebody else’s diet for your own, simply doesn’t work. Finally we outlined some strategies for change, and how you can use neuroplasticity to reshape and reconfigure your diet blueprint.
Despite this process being quite simple, it is certainly not easy. Most weight loss information will have you believe that you can lose allthe weight that you want in 30 days, and that rapid weight loss is the key to success. I wish this were the case, but sadly, it’s not.

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 4

In part 4 of the best diet for weight loss, we are going to continue to the next step of creating your new diet blueprint. At this stage, you should have a good understanding of your current eating behaviors and habits. In Part 3 we discussed that we all have very distinct habits when it comes to eating, and that completely changing your diet is not a good idea because you will always revert to your old eating behaviors. In this series we will discuss what the best habits are to change and how to use neuroplasticity to make that change.

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 3

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 3

In part 3 of the best diet for weight loss, we are going to start to evaluate your eating behaviors. By now you should be starting to get a basic understanding of your current eating blueprint. This is critical, so if you have not managed to write down everything that you eat during a week, then go back to part 2 of this series.

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 2

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 2

In our first article on the best diet for weight loss, we discussed the importance of creating your own
diet blueprint. Creating your blueprint is not a quick and easy process. It requires attention, commitment and high priority in your life. Last week, you had one exercise to do, which was to write down everything that you eat. Although it sounds easy, it usually takes most people around 4-5 weeks before they actually get a week where they have written everything down. So if you failed to complete the task last week, don’t worry! That’s normal and you will get another chance this week.  Most people find that success comes as they continue to apply themselves.

Best Diet For Weight Loss part 1

One of the most common questions for dieters is “What is the best diet for weight loss?”. With so much weight loss and diet information available, it is often difficult to distinguish which is the best diet for you. Should you pick a high protein, low carbohydrate diet? What about a low fatdiet? Maybe the Zone diet, the South Beach diet, or the Atkins diet will be right to you? Unfortunately, despite all the hype, I am here to tell you that it’s not really that important which of these diets you pick. In fact over the coming weeks I will teach you why sticking to one of these diets is probably a very bad idea. Worried? Don’t be. I will also show you how you can create a diet that works best for you (and only you). Let’s begin…

The reason that these diets are successful at the beginning is that you often have initial motivation, so you want to change, and they also provide you with a BLUEPRINT. These diets are also very clever by manipulating your calorie intake despite claims that you can “eat as much as you want”. They do this by fulfilling your sensory specific satiety, meaning that when you eat the same foods over and over, your brain simply gets bored and turns your “I’m full” signal on much sooner. Basically this means you don’t eat as much and thus you lose weight.

4 Key Reasons Why Changing Your Clothes Is Critical For Weight Loss Success

we are going to explain exactly why it is critical to your success.

1. Complacency: One of the major mistakes that dieters make is that they tend to get complacent at exactly the wrong time. Once your clothes fit better, you feel great and everybody begins to comment on how great that you look. As a reward you decide to indulge in your favorite treat. No big deal, you have been so good up to now, right? Unfortunately, an indulgence like this leads to a second, and then to a third, until finally, in a few days, you have undone all the hard work that you have done over the past few weeks. When you have decided that you want to lose weight, it is imperative that you NEVER get complacent. Being thin is a lifestyle, and it is difficult to change your whole life in a few weeks. Change takes time, and just because you lose weight, does not mean that you lose vulnerability.

You see, when people talk about losing weight, they don’t always comprehend exactly what that means. Most people automatically connect weight with fat, but that’s not accurate.
If you want to lose 15lbs just so it looks better on the scale readout, then it probably doesn’t matter whether you lose fat, water or muscle. (But you don’t really want to think that way!) If you want to lose that extra bulge around your middle, then you’re looking to lose 15lbs of fat fast.

3 Smart Reasons Why You Need Fiber in Your Diet

3 Smart Reasons Why You Need Fiber in Your Diet

In our diets full of fast food and sugary snacks, it’s hard to find foods that are actually good for you. If you want to be healthier and feel better, then you should try adding fiber to your diet.
What is Fiber?
Fiber is a material produced by plants that we can’t digest. So why would we want to eat something we can’t digest? Insoluble fiber dissolves in water and gives your food a thicker consistency. This makes you absorb sugar into your blood stream more slowly. Soluble fiber absorbs water, but doesn’t dissolve it. This makes your stool moist and helps clean out your digestive tract.
Here are 3 reasons why you need to add fiber to your diet:

4 Easy Ways to Make “Eating Healthy” Taste Good

4 Easy Ways to Make “Eating Healthy” Taste Good

Juicy RaspberriesOne of the biggest reasons people don’t eat healthy foods is because they feel it won’t taste good. The problem is, if your health food doesn’t taste good, you’re eating the wrong health food. Just because something is good for you doesn’t mean it has to taste bland, boring, or completely gross. There are plenty of ideas out there for eating healthy without making sacrifices on taste. Here are just a few of them.

Try new alternatives
The health food market has changed in recent years. Eating healthy is more popular; so a lot of new products and healthy alternatives are now available. Next time you’re at a health food store (and if you don’t go, you definitely should), look around at all the different options. There are now healthier versions of previously unhealthy foods. Why not try them; you might be pleasantly surprised with the taste.

Anytime the topic of discussion in my blogs, articles or newsletters has turned to my own personal grocery shopping list, there has always been a spike in interest. It seems that many people are not only curious about what foods a natural bodybuilder eats to maintain single digit body fat, but they also want to be taken by the hand and told exactly what foods to eat themselves while on fat-burning or muscle building programs. That’s why I decided to put together four separate “top 10″ lists of healthy foods that burn fat and build muscle.

Are Low-Fat Foods Making You Fat?

Are Low-Fat Foods Making You Fat?

Why foods stripped of fat can actually cause you to pack on the pounds.

Are Low-Fat Foods Making You Fat?
Picture this: You’re in the snack aisle of the grocery store and as your hand is reaching for the Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies you remember your upcoming tropical vacation, your new bikini and the fact that your sister-in-law (whose baby weight “just fell right off”) will also be there. So instead your hand makes a swift move to the right and grabs the fat-free chocolate cookies instead.
It sounds logical—you eat low-fat foods, you lose weight—but studies show that the opposite is more likely.
That’s because sticking a low-fat label on food can trick you into believing that tasty bag of cookies is better for you than the full-fat version. “People automatically perceive low-fat and fat-free products as healthier or lower in calories, so they don’t worry as much about watching their portions,” explains Joy Bauer, R.D., nutrition and health expert for NBC’s “Today” show. “And food companies know this so they try to use this to their advantage when labeling products. But just because a product is low in fat doesn’t mean you have carte blanche to eat as much as you want…those calories still count!”

How to Eat and Lose Weight

1 - Eat more fresh food! Choose fresh, nutrient-rich, healthy, low-fat foods rather than junk food. Junk food can range from burgers to those cookies that you always bought! Adding a lot of vegetables and fruits to your diet will help you, they keep you feeling full for longer than processed food so you won't even feel the need to eat loads. Also, drinking bouillon, a Haitian soup, made with filtered water will help you feel full.

7 Fat Loss Strategies For Busy Moms

1. The majority of your workouts should be composed of free-weight, bodyweight or cable exercises.

Compared to machines, free-weight, bodyweight and cable movements often require more skill, create muscular balance, and have a greater metabolic cost. For example, it is more difficult to balance the weights, and to coordinate muscles when performing free-weight exercises. Although this may sound like a disadvantage, it is actually a benefit. By balancing and stabilizing free-weights or cables you are working more muscles through a greater range of motion resulting in more muscles developed and more calories burned.

4 Ways to Track Your Weight Loss Progress

If you want to get serious about dropping pounds, you need to track your progress on a weekly basis. Creating a weekly ‘feedback loop’ will help you pinpoint what’s working for you — and what isn’t. What you’re looking for is a pattern of progress over a period of several weeks. Don’t get discouraged if you see a loss and then a slight gain.
Here are four ways you can track your weight loss progress. You can use one method — or all four. The key is to track on weekly basis, at the same day and time, under the same circumstances. Tracking weight along with body fat percentage gives you a better indication of your body mass composition (fat weight vs. lean body mass).

Weight

One way to measure your weight loss progress is to track your weight from week to week. Your weight can fluctuate throughout the day, so it’s important to weigh yourself at the same day and time and under the same circumstances. First thing in the morning is usually best.

One drawback to weighing yourself is your goal is to lose “fat” not “weight.” A scale won’t tell you if you’re losing fat or muscle. It also won’t tell you if the weight you’ve gained is fat or muscle.
Look for a loss of 1 to 2lbs a week.
